Welcome! I am so pleased to be teaching you the language arts program this year. Our class will cover literature, grammar, writing, spelling and vocabulary. We will have class Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Each week I will post homework assignments on this site. Some assignments will not be listed as with literature it is hard to know how far we will read. If you have any questions, please call me or e-mail me. I strongly suggest that each student have a homebook assignment book. I am more than happy to sign it everyday. It really helps them with organization.

BOOK REPORT:3rd quarter book report:  Each student must choose a book from our large library in the 8th grade classroom. The format will be an oral presentation. It will be a summary of the book with a personal recommendation. The student will also be required to have some sort of hand made/hand drawn piece which represents someone or something from the book. The due date will be the last week of March..

Literature: . BOOK: Westing Game test went home last Friday. New book: The Witch of Blackbird Pond. We have had one quiz which will go home tomorrow. We are on Chap. 4.

Spelling: Unit 19 words 5x and sentences due Friday, 24th. Test is Friday, the 24th.

Vocabulary:Unit 10: definitions were due Friday  Test is the 23rd with the crossword. 2 pages of the unit are due tomorrow (21st).

Please sign all tests and quizzes and have your child return them to me. This way I know you know how your child is progressing. Please call me or e-mail me with your concerns and questions.
