Dear Parents, Homework has a definite place in the educational process. It is an extension of the learning experiences children have during the instructional day. Homework is designed to aid the student in achieving classroom and school goals, and should not be used to punish or keep a student busy. I am very aware that many of my students participate in many extra-curricular activities after school and do not wish to over load them. Homework should take no longer than an hour. Please contact me if your child seems to be struggling with this timeline. Every night students will have 30 minutes of reading. Please look for your child's reading log to be signed week. Every night except Friday night students should have a math assignment based on the math concepts we learned that day in class. An exception would be if we had to take a test on a day other than Friday. Spelling homework will usually go home on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Spelling tests will be given every Thursday. Students will be given a spelling list every Friday. They are also posted on the website. To find the list go to the 4th grade spelling list folder and download this week's lesson. This page should be updated weekly by Monday afternoon of that week. I may make changes to the homework though out the week, if I need to make an adjustment based on how well the students are doing in class. Unfinished class work will become extra homework.
